Novelties

The last two pieces you will need to complete you 15 piece wardrobe = 30 days of fashion are a novelty pant and novelty jacket or cardigan

These are the pieces that give uniqueness to your wardrobe, you can add anything from leather and studs to pretty, light and airy flounces and ruffles.

For the jacket or cardigan look for something that you are attracted to and would get a lot of wear out of, make it your go to piece that you love! If you have a style with an edge look for a lightweight leather jacket with interesting details. When looking for a cardigan search for comfortable, breathable fabrics in pretty colors or even with prints.

When searching for a novelty pant use the same steps as with the jacket or cardigan. Look for a coloured jean or leggings or even a pair of printed crop pants. Any pant that will stretch your wardrobe even farther would be a great addition!

Three Piece Suit

The next three things you will need for your 15-piece wardrobe = 30 days of fashion is the three-piece suit

Stylisheve has some good points about the three-piece suit but I have a different opinion on what three-piece suit is.

The three-piece suit consists of a blazer a coordinate pant and a coordinate skirt. This could be anything from the simple classic black blazer to a trendy Chanel style tweed jacket, skirt and coordinating pant. With the three-piece suit it is all about getting the proper fit and playing with different fabrics!! So have fun when shopping, try many different types of suits in all colors and styles!

These basic three pieces will help to stretch your wardrobe farther as you can mix and match these items with any other pieces you have. Don’t be afraid to pair your blazer with a band t-shirt and jeans for a sophisticated casual look!!

Dress to Impress

The next item you need in your 15-piece wardrobe = 30 days of fashion is a dress

Whether you have a classic style and you choose a little black dress or if you’re trendier and you decide to go with a fun printed dress, the most important thing is fit. Make sure you dress your body type to its best potential!!!!!!

The Women's Day article is a base point on how to choose the perfect dress and has some good tips.

Here are some extra tips:

The Oval Figure: Choose a dress that will visually broaden your shoulders with details such as epaulettes, flutter sleeves or bold accent colors confined to the shoulder area. For example a sleek sheath dress paired with a blazer or light jacket or an A-line dress are some great choices!

The Hourglass Figure: Define your curves!! Choose a dress with gentle shaping through the waistline in a light to medium weight fabric that has some drape to it. Remember that adding a belt from a slim chain to a wide width at the waist is a chic touch.

The Triangle Figure: Choose a dress that emphasizes your upper torso. Find a dress that has a print on the bottom half and the lightest or brightest color from that print on the top. Add interest to the neck and shoulder region to draw the eye upwards with interesting necklines perhaps with ruffles, bateau necklines, cowl necklines or horizontal strips. For an added touch throw a jacket with well-defined shoulders overtop of your dress.

The Inverted Triangle Figure: Choose a dress with a long neckline such as the V or U neckline to draw the eye towards the center of the body. Look for a dress with a fuller, softer skirt such as a gentle A-line shape. Waist detailing is also a great option such as gathers or center seam ruffles. Style your dress with accessories that draw your eye towards the center of the body such as long pendants.
