The next item you need
in your 15-piece wardrobe = 30 days of fashion is a dress
Whether you
have a classic style and you choose a little black dress or if you’re trendier
and you decide to go with a fun printed dress, the most important thing is fit.
Make sure you dress your body type to its best potential!!!!!!
The Women's Day article is a base point on how to choose the perfect dress and has some good
tips.
Here are some extra tips:
The Oval
Figure: Choose a dress that will visually broaden your shoulders with
details such as epaulettes, flutter sleeves or bold accent colors confined to
the shoulder area. For example a sleek sheath dress paired with a blazer or
light jacket or an A-line dress are some great choices!
The
Hourglass Figure: Define your curves!! Choose a dress with gentle shaping
through the waistline in a light to medium weight fabric that has some drape to
it. Remember that adding a belt from a slim chain to a wide width at the waist
is a chic touch.
The Triangle
Figure: Choose a dress that emphasizes your upper torso. Find a dress that
has a print on the bottom half and the lightest or brightest color from that
print on the top. Add interest to the neck and shoulder region to draw the eye
upwards with interesting necklines perhaps with ruffles, bateau necklines, cowl
necklines or horizontal strips. For an added touch throw a jacket with well-defined shoulders
overtop of your dress.
The
Inverted Triangle Figure: Choose a dress with a long neckline such as the V
or U neckline to draw the eye towards the center of the body. Look for a dress
with a fuller, softer skirt such as a gentle A-line shape. Waist detailing is
also a great option such as gathers or center seam ruffles. Style your dress
with accessories that draw your eye towards the center of the body such as long
pendants.
